During the visit, the two sides are expected to sign a pact enabling Russia to build more nuclear reactors at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu and new ones at Haripur in West Bengal.
The two countries signed on December 7 last year a path-breaking broad-based agreement that ensures transfer of technology and uninterrupted uranium fuel supplies to its nuclear reactors.
Russia plans to build six to eight nuclear power units in Haripur, a place earmarked by India a few months back for Russia.
There is also a proposal for Russia building four additional reactors of 1000 MW each at Kudankulam. First two units at Kudankulam are in final stages and expected to be commissioned by the year-end.
