Siemens to build combined cycle power plant in the Netherlands
Siemens Energy has received an order from the Netherlands for turnkey construction of a combined cycle power plant.
Purchaser of the 435-megawatt plant Diemen 34 in the vicinity of Amsterdam is the Dutch utility Nuon, a subsidiary of Vattenfall A.B. Siemens will also handle plant maintenance.

Vestas receives order for 40 MW in India
Vestas has received an order for 24 units of the V82-1.65 MW wind turbine for a project in South India.
The contract comprises supply and commissioning of the turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system as well as a 10-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery is scheduled to start during third quarter of 2010, and the project will be completed during first quarter of 2011.

Ireland’s renewable energy sources have a potential three times the country’s energy requirements.
According to the book Green & Gold – Ireland a Clean Energy World Leader? by Alternative Energy Resources CEO John Travers, 20% of total Irish energy needs can be met by renewable energy within the next 10 years and 80% by 2050 and that 20% of Irish GDP can be derived from clean energy exports.
